St. Xavier University

Saint Xavier University widely known as SXU, is a coeducational institution of higher learning located in the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois, SXU was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1846 at the request of Bishop William Quarter. Saint Xavier University was originally termed as Saint Francis Xavier Female Academy in the 19th century, but the name was later changed to Saint Xavier College, and finally in 1992, it officially became a university.

SXU is a private Catholic, four year, co-educational institution, providing education to more than 5,600 students, and is mainly recognized for its undergraduate and graduate courses in nursing, business and education. The Saint Xavier University is based in Chicago with a huge 74 acre campus, located in a residential neighborhood, it has more than 36 student organizations, providing comprehensive activities including academic, artistic, athletic and social.
